Morgan and I left the end of year school play-day last night after a full day of baseball and candy cannons and good hamburgers. Mr. Bronson’s grades 6-9 celebrated their win in the baseball game vs. their dad’s by pouring pitchers of water over Mr. B. A little spitting from the sky but answered prayers prevailed and the rain clouds kept their prisoners. Cheyanne G. (Morgans 1st cousin who’s been teaching with him here in enderby the last 2 years) is driving down to California with us to visit the cousins. And presumably to spend more time with us. I can’t believe Morgan just finished his 5th year of teaching school –with a “yes” to go back to Enderby for next year. He will only have 10 students and 3 grades next year, a nice little break from 4 grades and 18 students i think:)
So yes we stopped in Hope, BC, and spent night last night after driving in snow over the Coquihalla. As Morgan said, “If you were expecting something nice for a place to sleep you would pull up to this and be disappointed. ” Fortunately I had adequately prepared him and CheyanneG. for the circumstances so it was an okay place to spend night.
We had a nice sunshine ferry crossing from Edmond to Kingston and were greeted with open arms to Avril&Rob and baby Caspians House by the Sea with Brycen&Kayla waiting too. We had the best 2 hours which was all we could spend before traveling on much to our sadness. My heart was wrapped in love and that feeling of people who know you and love you anyways from those dear people from arrival to departure and I left with overflowing heart. I feel it is rare to have such people in life and I give thanks as we drive.
We drove through patches of Olympic National Park as we headed south and had a quick walk down to Ruby Beach where we spent a good amount of time admiring the little flowers growing from moss on old logs and the waves crashing and I found a good sitting rock where I could dangle my feet and play WillThisWaveFinishOffMyOldBirkenstocks or not. Mexican food for supper obviously. If we have a vitamin deficiency in our canadian household, it’s certainly the Mexican food one. Tomorrow we hope after a long driving day to arrive at Mom in laws in Winton. We are told our nephews Oscar & Archie have plans for us involving ice cream, and Dutch Bros. in no particular order I am sure. Have a lovely week:)
